I am not a very romantic person.
If someone would leave rose buds for me on the floor, I would probably first take a vacuum cleaner 😉
Luckily, my J is very well aware of this.
I’d choose a crime novel over a romance book any day.
But this morning I stumbled on a story that even made my heart melt and inspired me to draw.
Keith tells the story of a blooming love between two young people.
He gives a very vivid view of a beautiful garden setting in Cawdor Castle, Scotland.
Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to capture his detailed description in my drawing.
But if I practice hard enough, I might be able to do more in the future!
The style is very different from my usual cartoon-ish and playful characters, but I am slowly trying out more “serious” drawings.
I also made it more “sketch like”.

Make sure to check Keith’s website out.
It looks like he is quite a new blogger, but has developed a concept I have not yet seen before.
He writes Story Starters.
So if you are looking from inspiration to get those creative juices flowing, his blog is the place to be! 🙂
And you are drawing humans! Love it!

Goodness, this illustration is adorable. It’s great to try different styles as well. I’ll have to go take a look at Keith’s blog. ^_^

Hi, Andrea, I have been looking again at your sketch. You have captured the essence of Lady Cynthia inhaling the deep heady perfume of the gift of flowers. I can imagine the thoughts that are beginning to course though her mind: “Is this love?”

Thank you so much. I am glad you like it!
It definitely deserves a full drawing, with the entire scenery. I am not giving up on that! 🙂

Yeah, I am always trying to develop my skill set.
But at the same time, also want to stay true to my original style 🙂

It sounds interesting. I will have to hop on over there and see.
The sketch looks great. Do you have a favorite flower?

Mhh… I don’t think I have a favorite flower. I like them all.
Quite honestly, I don’t really like to have a bouquet in the house because it dies way to quickly. But I do like looking at in a nice garden.
One of the things I do like about spring 🙂
