I put a smiley face as a reply but figured I should explain myself.
Having read the title this time, the doodle made me smile. (Should I even be calling your drawings doodles anymore? It does not seem right…) I wanted to show that I ‘got it.’

I was a bit afraid if people would understand it.
J didn’t. He didn’t know the fairy tale.
But I always feel like if I need to explain a joke, it just wasn’t funny for that person.
But I knew you would!
Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense, Denmark. It is probably my favorite city here, because there are so many reference to him and his fairy tales. He is even on the traffic lights!
And the emperor penguin is one of my favorite animals!
Their skills in the water, the clumsiness while walking, the sliding on their bellies, their determination for the chick.
They are just amazing!

Have you ever watched ‘Atypical?’ It’s a show about an autistic boy and he loves penguins.

It is not necessarily an inside joke.
The emperor’s new clothes is a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
And this particular type of penguin is called the emperor penguin.
So it is just a play on those two components 🙂
